The APA Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development Affairs Livelily Discusses Environmental Issues

The APA Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development Affairs held its meeting at Sokha Siem Reap hotel convention center in the morning of 1 December 2016 to focus mainly upon environmental issues. The meeting was chaired by the head of the delegation from Bahrain in the attendance of delegations from APA member parliaments, including the Cambodian parliamentary delegation, headed by H.E. Mr. Mam Bunneang.

Honorable parliamentary delegates in the meeting have shared their views and offered recommendations, urging Asia to work together to foster sustainable development with the appropriate consumption of energy resources, promoting economic growth, fighting against climate change and poverty reduction in Asia.

Finally, the aforesaid Standing Committee has put forward six draft resolutions to be submitted to the 9th APA plenary session for final consideration and passage one by one as follows:

- Draft Resolution on Asian Integrated Energy Market
- Draft Resolution on Environmental Issues
- Draft Resolution on Financial Affairs: Ensuring Efforts for Economic Growth
- Draft Resolution on Roles of APA Parliament to Adopt Legislation in Supporting the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals
- Draft Resolution on Poverty Eradication
- Draft Resolution on Water and Sanitation in Asia for All
